Colophony (rosin)

Popularly known as rosin, colophony is a compound extracted from Pine trees, formed by a mixture of resin acids, whose main component is abietic acid. It is the result of purification and distillation of pine resin.

Amber in color and stable, rosin is used in various products such as glues, soaps, enamel, rubber derivatives, cosmetics, detergents, adhesives & sealants, paints, etc.
